When most people think about Disney parks, they picture Orlando or California. But tucked just outside of Paris is Disneyland Paris, a magical destination that combines European charm with the timeless wonder of Disney. Whether it’s your first Disney trip or you’re checking every castle around the world off your bucket list, Disneyland Paris offers an unforgettable experience that deserves a spot on your itinerary.

1. The Most Beautiful Disney Castle

Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in Disneyland Paris is unlike any other. With its whimsical pink turrets, stained glass windows, and even a hidden secret (a must see!) lurking in the dungeon below, this castle is often considered the most beautiful of all Disney parks (albeit not the largest).

2. A European Twist on Classic Magic

Disneyland Paris is familiar yet refreshingly different. From rides with unique storytelling touches (like Phantom Manor, a darker take on the Haunted Mansion) to Ratatouille: The Adventure, an attraction exclusive to Paris, you’ll experience Disney in a whole new way.

3. Easier to Combine with European Travel

One of the best reasons to visit Disneyland Paris is location, location, location. You can spend a few days soaking in Disney magic, then hop on a train to see the Eiffel Tower, tour the French countryside, or continue on to other European destinations, just like we did during our 10-year anniversary trip around Germany, France, Switzerland & Italy!

4. Seasonal Events with Extra Flair

Disneyland Paris goes all out for seasonal celebrations. Imagine Halloween with a European Gothic twist, Christmas markets complete with mulled wine and twinkling lights, or springtime festivals with breathtaking floral displays.

5. More Manageable in Size

Compared to Walt Disney World, Disneyland Paris is smaller and easier to navigate, making it perfect for families with young kids or travelers who want to see a lot in a short time. If you’ve been to Disneyland in California, it felt very similar in size with two parks and entrances very close together.

6. A Chance to Experience Disney in Another Language

There’s something special about hearing Disney parades, shows, and announcements in both French and English. We visited over the Christmas holiday and got to watch all of the Christmas shows in word and song spanning language barriers!

7. Delicious French-Inspired Dining

From Mickey-shaped pastries at breakfast to elegant sit-down meals with a Parisian twist, Disneyland Paris offers food options that rival the magic on the rides.

Cost Comparison: Paris vs U.S. Parks

One of the things that blew us away about Disneyland Paris was the price difference compared to the U.S. parks. I’ll be honest… I went in expecting Europe to be more expensive, but it was the opposite. Tickets, special experiences, even food…it all came in noticeably cheaper than what we’ve paid at Walt Disney World or Disneyland California.

For example, tickets at Disneyland Paris start much lower. Depending on the season, you can often find adult tickets in the €60–€90 range (around $65–$95 USD). Compare that to the U.S., where a single-day ticket usually starts around $120 and can climb past $200 on peak days. When you’re buying for a whole family, those savings add up fast.

Even dining felt more flexible. Sure, you can splurge on a character meal inside the park, but there are also plenty of delicious (and more affordable) French restaurants just outside the gates. Plus you can bring outside food into the parks and have more of a picnic-style lunch vs. having to purchase meals on-property.

Overall, Disneyland Paris gave us the Disney magic we know and love, but at a price that didn’t make my eyes water. If you’ve ever dreamed about upgrading your Disney experience with VIP perks or just want to enjoy the parks without draining your wallet, Paris might surprise you in the best way possible.

Disneyland Paris is a dream destination for Disney fans, families, and travelers alike. It has all the magic you know and love, plus unique European touches you won’t find anywhere else and at a better price point. Whether you’re planning a dedicated Disney vacation or adding it to a bigger European itinerary, this park is well worth a visit.
